Fine Artists
We have lots of creative events programmed in February 2015 and we'd like to kick off the month with a new exhibition showcasing talent from the area of Hackney, and the borader East End community. We are looking for artists who can fill the space with high qualty art and set up an exhibition in the beginning of February. Due to the nature of the space, we can only display large paintings / prints / wall installations. We'll also organise a launch event & artists will be also able to sell their artwork.

Gallery Assistant
We are looking for volunteers to contribute to an incredible installation combining theatre design with art in a West End location (you couldn' ask to be more central!).
Casual hours - work when you can.
No professional experience needed as you will be guided throughout. Experience working with a top team and learn about being behind the scenes on a fast-moving production schedule.

Freelance Artist Educator
Fashion Show/Outreach Community Project
Backlit (an independent gallery and artist studios) wishes to commission a Freelance Artist Educator/Facilitator to develop and deliver a community outreach project using fashion to discover, learn, and interpret the history of the textile industry in Nottingham with a focus on the Victorian textile manufacturer Samuel Morley.
Tasks:
-To lead an eight-week fashion project working in collaboration with communities from the St Ann’s area of Nottingham and present a fashion show as a way of introducing people to the history of Samuel Morley and his relevance to Nottingham.
-To incorporate the use of related archival material and interpretation, to enhance participants understanding of the relevance of Samuel Morley’s legacy.
-To provide a plan for each session or sessions.
-To liaise with, and report to the Learning Curator at Backlit.
-To contribute to the evaluation of the final report for the outreach project.
