Ethel Tawe
About Me

My name is Ethel-Ruth Tawe and I'm a Cameroonian self-taught aspiring artist based in London, United Kingdom. I am currently studying International Human Rights as well as Art History & Critism which are incorporated greatly into my artwork. My inquisitive mind and adventurous heart find inspiration in nature and people! I love to travel, discover new traditions, lifestyles and understand others' perceptions which help me truly identify with the diverse nature of our world.

AFRICA ; my home continent! Living in Cameroon, Tanzania and Kenya has brought great influence to my art and who I stand as today. At a young age I found inspiration in this cradle: my mothers, fathers, landscapes, music and vibrant cultures of Home. I believe my continent is the future & I commend the ongoing African rennaissance in the diaspora. Most subjects of my African art are expressions of my visions to spread and showcase the potential of this emergent continent.
The voice of art speaks in all languages and to all peoples. It can hold its breathe and stop time, tell a tale of emotions and sing songs of freedom. My he(art) aims to encompass and capture the aspirations of the voiceful and the voiceless.
